    HI,
I have an Indesit IDL530 UK2 (dishwasher) which is not heating and the 4th light is flashing at the end of the cycle.

I’ve read through all the relevant topics and carried out the advice given to other posters, but still it doesn’t heat up and the 4th light flashes.

Carried out a visual check of wiring and connections
Checked the thermister is attached correctly to the dispenser.
Checked the connections to the heating element and tested it with multi meter and got a 30 ohm reading across the connections with wires disconnected.
Sent the PCB away for checking and two components were replaced.
Finally, replaced the thermostat with a new one.

The machine continues to work except heating

As the fault remains, is there anyone has any last ideas before I bite the bullet and buy a new one? :eeek:

    Re: Indesit IDL530 heating fault

Have you checked the wiring for continuity between the pcb and the heater. It is not uncommon for the wiring harness to break inside the door, often near the hinges.
Failing that I would suspect the pcb ‘repair’.

Does your pcb have the small thermistor hard wired into the pcb? It is the small L shaped device that clips to the inner door panel?
This part is not available as a separate spare part.

There is some discrepancy between the actual parts lists and the service manual, parts lists show a separate temp sensor in the base tub and manual says the ntc/thermistor is hard wired to the pcb.?????

    Hi iadom,
Thanks for your response. I haven’t checked for continuity between PCB and heater element. I will do.
This model has the thermistor hardwired to the pcb with 2 black wires to the white plastic device clipped on the dispenser in the door. There is also a temp sensor (which I earlier referred to as thermostat) fitted in the base of the tub, the part number 041086.
Thanks again, I’ll check the wiring and let you know how I get on.

    Hi iadom,

I’ve checked and there is continuity from the PCB to the temp sensor and heater element.
I’ve given the wiring a more thorough visual check especially where the door hinges and all appears in order. Also checked the wiring from the thermister and have continuity on both wires back to PCB.
I hear what you say about PCB test but I’d rather not pay again to get it checked, instead putting the cost towards a new machine if needs be.
Can you think of anything else worth checking?

No, the pcb is the main cause of this fault TBH. The temp sensor in the base is just overheat protection.

    Re: Indesit IDL530 heating fault,

Hi, Thanks for your help and advice. I’ll struggle to show the repair to the PCB is/was faulty. I think at this point I’ll cut my losses and get a new machine. Thanks again, your help is much appreciated.
