ParticipantHello all,
Recently my Indesit IDL700.UK has stopped half way through a wash cycle with the error code of lights 2 & 4 (6H & 12H) flashing.
I measured the heater, and this appears to be fine, so suspected the thermistor attached to the control PCB.
I’ve replaced the PCB, but the wash cycle still aborts.
Any items in the wash aren’t washed properly either (not surprisingly!)
Any help anyone can offer of where to look next would be great!
Many thanks,
Richard.

2+4 is a no heat fault.
The NTC will not stop the heater from working and is not often the cause of any fault unless it slips out of its mounting.
If your machine has the ‘L’ shaped heater in the base then this is also more reliable than the internal tube type element.
The PCB’s on Indesit machines are pretty dire at the best of times. Its not uncommon for new ones to be faulty on first use. Even Indesit will only guarantee them for 90 days now.
What was the part number of the PCB you replaced, there are two different ones fitted to IDL700 machines.
Is your machine an IDL700UK or an IDL700UK.2..?

Hi Iadom,
Many thanks for your response.
I believe it is an IDL700UK – not a .2 – but I say this only based on what is titled on the machine itself.
The PCB I put in was a C00143206 (I believe it to be a like-for-like swap – but I might be mistaken? It looks identical, for what it’s worth!)
The DW does have the L shaped heater in the base. I put a multi across it and I seem to recall it measuring approx 30 ohms which I thought to be ok?
Any advice gratefully received!
Richard.

The .2 is often not obvious, the full serial number would help.
The commercial code is part of the numbers on the rating plate..30042 for the IDL700UK and 34118 for the IDL700UK.2
That is the correct part for an IDL700UK, heater reading is about right as well.

Thanks again.
Where is the serial number located?
Richard.

Usually down the side of the inner door panel, sometimes also on the back of the machine.

Hi,
Well, I’d never spotted the serial number on the side of the door. Wish I had, as it is actually a IDL700 UK.2
S/N – 42003022
37341180000I’m guessing I’ve put in a wrong (incompatible) PCB?
Doesn’t explain why the fault was there before I replaced the PCB though…
Hmmm.

Checking back the part number you used is correct for that model.
One last thing you could try is to re install the old PCB, set the machine on until it faults then re insert the new one.
If you absolutely certain the heater is OK then it does point towards a faulty new PCB.
It is possible there may be a break in the wiring but that is not common until machines become a few years old. Sadly most current Indesit production rarely lasts that long. 😥

Hi again,
I’m contemplating replacing the heating element on the assumption that whilst it measures ok that it’s old and caked up and so isn’t performing to specification and so isn’t heating the water enough…
It’s a theory!
Do you happen to know if the part is identical between IDL700UK and IDL700UK.2?
I can find the spare part for IDL700UK but not the .2
Cheers!

Same part, C00144898.
