    Hi all,

I am new to the forum.

My Wife got so fed up waiting for me to change the snapped belt on our Indesit IDV65(UK) Tumble Dryer, that she did it herself, and fair play, she did a good job.

But, and there is always a but… She didn’t make a note of which wire goes where.

And that is the reason for asking for help here.

I have done a diagram of the Timer (including a list of colours of the 12 wires that I have), and the Starter and Heat setting buttons. I forgot to do one of the door lock – I need to know the wiring for that too, please. (As I forgot to do a diagram, if anyone knows what colour goes where – I have checked the lock as best as I could, but could not see any numbers on it I please could you answer from left to right whilst looking from the top, downwards, whilst standing at the front of the Dryer).

If anyone could be so kind as to let me know which coloured wire goes where, I would appreciate it.

    Many thanks,
    John.

Fair enough mate – I am competent enough to Push wires on their terminals. 🙂

“we’ll try to point you in the right direction but that’s as far as we can legally go.”

I’d apprecate the above too, if that is all that you can do in this instance.

I would have to take issue with you on that point. 😉

Had you asked us first we would have told you that there is no need to remove a single wire when replacing the belt on this machine. :rolls:

However, stable doors and all that, check your PM’s.

    All sorted.

I traced all wires and started from scratch.

For the benefit of others, I have completed my diagram and have attached it below.

If this helps you in the future, please let us know, by posting on this thread?

    John.

    John.

I think the biggest help that this thread can be is to serve as a warning/lesson.

    1. Do not attempt to repair a machine if you have no idea what you are doing without asking for advice first.

    2. Never remove any wiring without first making a very careful note of each connectors position.

Personally the only wires I ever remove are door lock and bottom stat just so I can fully remove front panel, that way it’s easy to replace the bearings and felt. Even then I always take a note of wires to the lock

Always manage to replace front bearings and seal without touching any wiring, just allow it to ‘hinge’ forward to gain access. 😉

    Hi.
    The door switch wiring is
Brown to centre pin, This has a white plastic shroud.
Pink hooped to left pin. No shroud.
Grey to Right pin. No shroud
Beware the grey wire as it shorter than the rest, and comes off easily from the start button on the panel.
Also beware the cabinet metal edges, they have burrs that can give nasty cuts that you feel later on…like papercuts. :eeek:

Yes its 2016 and again can i say thank you toerag for your time at posting the wiring for the indesit idv65 and taken time to say where the wires go looking down from the front of the machine. We all make mistakes and that grey wire was the one i needed as it just was hanging out in space.
