ParticipantEvery time i do a wash i have to open the filter at the bottom and remove a cup of water. The rubber ring at the front of the drum has water in it also the fabric softener compartment.
The filer is clear i took the pipes under the sink apart and cleaned all them, i have looked down the hose at the back it looked clean and i put a small snake down it nothing came out.
The hose at the back is fixed to the machine so it goes half way up the back then down then up under the sink. Could this be the problem?May 9, 2017 at 9:51 am #447442iadom

Why do you have to clean the filter after every wash? Every washing machine that has ever been made always has a small amount of water left in the sump hose/pump after use. Perfectly normal situation. Some machines even have a small drain tube to allow you to drain this water into a low dish before removing the filter, something that you should do every few months at the most. We often encounter machines that have not had the filter removed for several years.
Water left in the fabric conditioner usually means the siphon tube in the conditioner compartment needs cleaning.

I don’t open the filter to clean it after every wash i do it to let out the water. A little is normal as u say but enough to soak a bath towel and half the floor isn’t. My softener drawer is clean i wash it all the time and run a few washes with bleach plus used a hand steamer on everything. Another point is the machine doesn’t spin well if i don’t drain it a 1600 spin and the clothes are still very wet before this the clothes came out almost dry.

Then it sounds as though you may have a partial blockage, could be in the sump hose from the drum to the drain pump. Small socks or similar can get into this hose.

Did you remove the hose completely, there is an eco ball in the top of the hose that can get stuck. Is it possible to remove the under sink end of the grey outlet hose, fill the machine then set it to drain with the end of the hose going into your sink to check the outflow. Make sure you put the plug in the sink first. 😉 Sometimes a small button or a five pence coin get get into the pipe and restrict the flow as well.

I took off 1 end at a time put my fingers in and checked no dirt or anything stuck. I did a rinse and drain with the hose in the sink, the water came out fast with some brown flecks like wood chips. The front rim of the drum still had water in it but the fabric softener drawer was clear. 🙂

Wood chips?? Sounds like there is or was something in there that shouldn’t be. The shape of some seals do lend themselves to holding a drop of water, some even have tiny drain holes to help disperse this.

I’m going to give it another run through with the hose in the sink just to make sure it’s all clear. Thank you very much for the help 😀
