    hi,
just done a search for advice on this but couldn’t see any on forum.

Replaced drive belt on this today 1991mm if i remember correctly.
Is there an easy way to do this job because i really struggled to get the belt to go round the jockey pulley .
I would have expected the jockey pulley to have a spring on it to tension the belt but it’s a fixed affair.
Any special hotpoint service tools to aid you or any tips for next time would be appreciated.
    thanks.

I heat new belt in a bowl of hot water while I strip machine then loop old belt around new belt to pull it over jockey wheel – proper way to do it is remove heater cover and fan – remove 4 bolts – rotate motor until belt can be fitted over wheel then rotate motor back and refit bolts – but you need biceps like King Kong to do it.

the best way I’ve found is to remove both sides and back and capacitor support the front door etc .fit the belt to the motor and hang it to the side of the machine. push the drum into the belt and adjust it to its running position. then roll the drum over the motor into the dryer with the belt fitting correctly onto the jockey pulley. fit the drum onto the front guides. fit the back panel and lever up the rear of the drum and fit the rear bearing to hold it together.
other people might use other ways but this works for me!
