ParticipantFor some strange reason my dryer is starting to play games. If I press the start button it just beeps. I have emptied the water cleaned the condenser filter at the bottom and also the fluff filter inside. Can anyone offer any suggestions please other than replacement…..

Are any of the lights on the front flashing?

No, none are flashing. The red power light is on and so is the empty water filter light.

It could be a simple door switch fault, is the little plastic peg still attached to the inside of the door at around 12 o’clock?
Jim.

Jim.
It appears OK, but the door does have a tendency to open when the dryer is on. I presumed this could be down to the amount of washing inside.

Not the most robust door mechanism, the only way forward is to check the door switch is operating correctly before getting to the expensive bits. 😉
Mains plug out and a test meter required.

Is there any other way of testing it as I have no test meter, unless you can point me in the right direction of buying one and then a crash course on how to use it….

Put it back in the drawer, not a safe tool to use at the best of times. 😯
Please do not live test, there is no need whatsoever.
At this stage I would suggest calling in someone who has the correct equipment etc. Why kill yourself trying to save a few £££’s. 😥
Better thick (you said it not me) than dead. 😉
The door switch is not very expensive if it is at fault.
Jim.

It could also be the float switch that is at fault. It is on the rear of the machine bottom RHS it could be stuck, it is worth checking.

ParticipantI will check that too…

ParticipantI had a look and saw what all I can describe is a metal strip. Other than that I have no idea….

The float switch also brings on the empty water light and can lock al the controls up.
