put on to timed dry and it drys fine. put it on to sensor dry and after a short time it switches to cool tumble and then off as if its dry.
can not see anything wrong with wiring or any dry joints on pcb.
would one of the thermistors cause this !
i don’t want to blame the board until i am sure so any help would be great.

i take it you had wet clothes in it as without damp the sensors would sense dry and turn machine off

Re: indesit isl70c sensor dry fault

not a fault i can recall but these dryers work in 1 of 2 ways

1 drum sensor a metal part in the drum that senses the clothes moisture to earth and acts on it may have a brush on the drum or as in the case of hoover a metal pin in the non revolving part of the frame at the front

2 temp difference if you sense the outgoing air and compare it to the incoming hot air the temp difference is your dryness some of the old creda machine did it with a thermostat mounted in the outgoing air

so to answer your question yes thermistors can cause it but so can the board you can check for o/c on the thermistor but if anyone else has got the manual they may have a value for it if you can get a round about value you can sub resistors to see what happens alternativly as emw whether they have a full test for the board

EMW wont touch those boards. 😥

Is the copper brush making good contact with the drum?

quite often with those dryers, its because the sensor strip has a plastic sleeve under it, which comes adrift

u need to check continuity, between the sensing sleeve and the drum, there should be no contact, if there is, u need to rectify that problem

it wont be a pcb fault, not for that fault

spot on iadom, i cleaned up surfaces on brush and drum sensing strap and that has indeed sorted it.
    thanks.

helo-75, surely if the sensors had contact it would act as if the clothes were wet and contiue to dry!.

you cant always assume that a short circuit will give you a clothes dry signal. on the face of it yes i agree but you have to remember the sensor is not sensing a short circuit only dampness you wont know what zero ohms will make the pcb think try it sometime and see what happens
