ParticipantHi
I have a indesit iwc6125
Doesn’t spin, doesn’t turn motor during wash cycle. Turns half turn maybe on revolution then stops, so without looking at codes etc, it sounds like the machine can’t detect the position or speed of the motor.
the code came out as F02 which i understand to be a motor problem as a described above.
Now this happened last year and the year before and then just started working after I left it for a week (also lifted it and removed and checked brushes etc)
the tacho is showing bout 75ohms, no voltage from it? My understanding is that the it should produce voltage when turned ? I manually turned over the drum / motor by the belt and received no voltage from the tacho…
It’s this motor.,http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Indesit-IWC61 … SwhDdXELWB
I can’t find the tacho anywhere seperately, I’d take a punt on the ebay motor for £30 but my issue is why would someone take a motor from a working machine and sell it ?
Why would you sell a working machine for parts, it doesn’t make sense to me…

the voltage from the tacho is very low and its AC not DC
best spin the motor when its on the ohms scale and see if it changes

I was testing AC.
I will try OHMS scale,
anyone ideas on where to buy one separately ?

I tested via AC again. 0.00 Volts
The resistance was 72ohms ( i used crocodile clips this time to ensure no movement of probes)
Turning the motor by hand (belt on or off) the resistance from the tacho didn’t change by more than 1ohm.

its not the tacho coil otherwise you would not get a reading
in the end of the armature is a magnet. this magnet spins inside the coil
check the magnet

The maget is there.
Cant’ see how it wouldn’t be, it’s screwed to the shaft.
I would expect some kind of reading or change in reading on the rotation of the motor from the TACHO otherwise what’s the point, how does it work ?

as long as the magnet is turning and the coil is ok then it cant fail to work so cant see why you cant see a reading

There was white powder inside the tacho is this normal ? Some kind of lubricant,
Other possibility is PCB. Any way of testing this. (I can debug analog audio circuits quite easily)

It was capacitors on the PCB.
Swapped a couple of them and it’s fine now.
I forgot to put the tacho back to start with and that was interesting because it shows the symptoms of a non working tacho which are different, i.e. it spins up really fast.
