ParticipantWent to a call where customer needed report on damage to above machine,on the phone she said that the machine(13 months old) had blown up !!! 😯 On arrival sure enough there was the remains of what once resembled :rolls: a washing machine, the WAFER THIN tank had completely disintergrated to a third of its original size, drum had collapsed against remains of tank, ballast on top of tank had crashed through lid of machine ,which in turn knocked the adjacent cupboard door , of its hinges scattering debris from machine over kitchen floor. On inspecting what was left (and there wasn’t much) could only conclude that drum support spring had broken away from tank during spin cycle and led to above scene of devastation !! So my question is, has anyone else came across similar scenario’s with these WONDERFULL 👿 machines ?

Yep,exactly like that !! Don’t know how they get away with producing crap like this, somebody is going to get hurt by one of these, the only reason the ballast etc didn’t get launched around the kitchen was due to the worktop above machine,as lid had been dislodged by impact . 😯

im currently in process of looking up and contacting the handful of customers who bought the hotpoint models (dont stock the indesit ones) to check their machines f.o.c. and to avise if necessary, would urge all the other retailers on here to also do the same thanks to good old retail law making the retailer liable by stocking it.

Just a quick update ,customer contacted trading standards, who went to see the damage to machine etc ,they then contacted Indesit who now (when contacted by customer originally, they didn’t want to know :rolls: ) according to trading standards, they admitted to having some problems with this range, but never to the extent of damage this one has caused, and therefore are considering a recall of these machines !!!! they have offered to pay whatever costs regarding replacement and damage caused, and also want to call next week to take away the EVIDENCE !!!!

We have seen quite a few around the UK and one of the lads has got an insurence inspection either tomorrow or monday so he will be sending me the photographs in of the damage. Nearly as bad as the exploding Candy/Hoover range. 😕

Update part 2- Indesit paid customer mentioned in original post £2,500 compensation and replaced washing machine within 3 weeks of consumer protection informing them that they were aware of the flaw in this model ! They also said that they are inspecting damage to machine before deciding if they wil recall them or not !!!!! :rolls:
