Indesit IWC81251 Constant filling

The problem is the machine fills constantly. I disconnected the fill valve electrically and it shuts off. When reconnected the machine fills and the drum agitates. The drain pump operates when the drum starts to overfill, all the time the water is running into the drum. Something is holding the fill valve open ….. pressure switch?

when does it start to fill, as soon as you turn on or after you select and start a programme ?

if you pause the programme does it still fill or does it stop ?

As soon as you start the programme it fills as it should.

When you pause the programme is still fills.

In that case it sounds like the control board

most components in the machine are controlled by the board using electronic switches called triacs. The triac that controls the valve sounds like its failed and needs to be replaced. Anyone who has a knowledge of electronics and soldering could do it all that needs to be done is find the faulty one and fine a replacement

Hi Dave

Thanks for your advice.

This machine is at our holiday home in France and seems to be a European model, not a UK one. Could you advise where to buy a new Control board online if required. This way i could take it over to France on my next visit and swap it out.

problem with indesit is the boards come blank and have to be programmed in the machine. I cant do one without purchasing a programmer and the software to do it

so its not a amateur repair in fact its not a easy repair for anyone except the
manufacturer or someone who can change electronic components on the board

where was the machine bought ?

If I remove the board can I get the triac repaired and replace when I return?

as long as that is the problem yes can be done

part is cheap at only a few pounds

if you remove board and put same board back after repair then it does not need programming

I also assume you have checked guarantee. I assume it the same as uk and covered for 12 months but I cant read French to check

It is a couple of years old now but only used a few times a year, so out of warranty.

I’ve removed the board and will take it back with to the UK and get it tested.

I’m back in July…so hopefully I can bring the repaired board back and plug it in!
