ParticipantMachine has just been moved. Allegedly was working before. Now it will start a program, water goes in drum moves a couple of times and then just sits there. Time counts down but nothing else happens. Can move manually to drain and will pump out. Heater checks out OK. No error codes. Anyone have any thoughts?

if it has been trolleyed during its move id be looking for damage to wiring around the motor area, rear bottom edge of indesit carcasses lend themselves to pivoting on the base of a trolley, causing front edge of narrow widthed trolley lips to swivel up and hit motor. sounds like a tacho or tacho cable fault on motor. under no circumstances inspect this whilst the appliance is live. i.e plugged in and power on. you will need a multimeter to check the motor / wiring looms

gandh1 thanks for the suggestion sorry I did not pick it up until now. I’ll get a look at the machine later in the week but one question – should I not be seeing an error code?

its an indesit, if the electronics worked properly, half of them with this kind of issue wouldnt have been scrapped…

Is it three phase machine by any chance? I have found a very odd thing on the later Arcadia Indesit boards. If the tacho signal is missing it will start, tumble a few times then stop and count down. On the older stuff the motor would just rev but on the new stuff it tumbles just a few times then stops. Also the tumble speed is a little quicker than normal. I spent hours on one doing this one days and found the tacho wires were damaged at the motor. Have seen it several times since.
Check the motor wiring.

Almost 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain it’s a brush gear motor. 😉

Worth checking it anyhow Iv only seen it on the 3ph machines but it’s not to say it won’t be the same on brushed motors.

yes its definitely a brush machine and they are OK. I’ll take a look at the wiring tomorrow. Thanks for the continuing interest.

ParticipantRe: Indesit IWD7145s not progresatesing through cycle
update: got a replacement board and fitted it last night. Started a program which got as far as the spin and stuck.program will progress with no spin in cycle but a spin in the cycle seems to block it-no error code but will not count down. able to empty by moving to that setting then tried to get it to spin. drum turns but not at spin speed and timer does not progress so something is blocking the spin phase. anyone able to help?
