ParticipantHi, i’m onto my second IWDC6125S Indesit Washer Dryer now.
My previous Zanussi Washer/Dryer died, so I replaced it with the above model. It seems to wash and dry as expected, but when its drying, it keeps drawing water into the detergent drawer.
Its pretty strange as the Zanussi machine never done anything like it.
The best way I can describe it is every 10-15 seconds throughout a drying cycle, the machine draws water in for a split second. Due to the speed at which it opens and closes the water valve to achieve it, it sounds like quite a bit of pressure, like a jet of water into the machine.
Is this normal? I phoned Indesit and they seemed clueless and sent an engineer to look. The engineer then ‘bricked’ the machine and killed the main board, which is how I am now onto my second one in a week.
The second machine now does the exact same thing and I am wondering if its actually a design feature (for something). Furthermore, would a sudden open/closing of the cold water connection cause any problems longer term for my pipes? It does sound pretty drastic and i’m worried it may cause some pressure issues that could result in a leak somewhere else in the house.
Any help or guidance is most welcome, especially anyone with the same machine who can confirm it is normal.
Thanks again.

all washer dryers use a small amount of water but the only time i have what you are descibing is when the motor brushes are sparking on spin
machine is a load of junk get rid of it and buy a Bosch

Thanks Dave
Although, I’m pretty disappointed, I’m probably stuck with this machine for now.
As its brand new, I don’t mind chasing Indesit for repairs/new machines in the meantime if it is a fault, or get used to it if its normal.
Below is a link to a short video file I created of the machine last night, in which the noise I am trying to describe can be heard. As you can hear, everything else sounds normal, except that frequent jet of water into the detergent drawer.
