ParticipantHi, my washer/drier has stopped working and I’m going to try and repair it tonight. The machine does not power up, any ideas where to start looking? I’ve done the obviouse and checked sockets, plug and fuse, all OK.
thanks

I’ve opened it up and can’t see or smell any signs of damage. I’ve tested the supply and I’m getting 240v to the filter and 240v out the filter. The next thing I see in the circuit is the control board. Is there anyway to test the circuits coming out of this to eliminate the other components?
I’ve checked the power on button and I’m getting 340mV to it on 2 of the contacts and the same out when I press it on another 2, there seems to be another contact that does nothing.the details on the controler are

Does anyone have any Ideas? I’ve got a quote for the controller but its £103 and I’m not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure its the fault. Could there be any other components that could cause this fault?

Are you getting any lights on at all?
The first things to check are the motor brushes and motor connecting plug.
The main pcb in the base is just as likely to be at fault as the facia pcb, that one will cost you over £100 but will also need programming for which you will need a £20 smart card and a £100+ card reader.

I’m not getting any lights on it at all.
I’ll have a look at the motor tonight if I have time. Would this cause the lights not to come on?May 28, 2013 at 2:25 pm #395106iadom

Unlikely, sounding more like a main pcb failure, could be facia/control pcb but can you afford to take that risk. 😥

Nightmare…..
Just to clarify, will the main pcb need the card to reprogram it or the facia pcb. Im thinking go for the main board and if that doesn’t work sell the lot for parts and get a new machine. Thanks for the help

The main board needs a £20 card and a £100+ card reader to programme the pcb. Little or no value in these TBH.
