ParticipantI’m trying to fix an Indesit IWDC6143 washer dryer that will not drain. Have checked the pump itself and tried a substitute one and the wires and connectors are all Ok. No physical blockage of hoses either and nothing wrong with position of drain hose. Pressure switch clicks once when blown into.
When a drain programme is set the door locks and the pump gets 240V for only a split second then nothing. Suspecting a faulty control board I went ahead and fitted a new PCB and configured it with a new card. Still the same problem. Othe rfunctions work, just not the pump.
Why is it not getting a sustained 240V from a brand new control board when the pump should be on? Anyone got any other ideas?

I had this a couple of months ago, check NTC on side of dryer duct for earth fault and also the one in the wash heater

Still stumped with this repair. I checked everything for an earth fault but all’s coming up fine. Also disconnected everything in turn to try to isolate the fault. No change.
I noticed that the dryer fan powers up for the same split second as the pump gets its power. Although the board is brand new I am going to send it off to get checked out but the mystery is that the same fault was present with the original board. ❓
Has anyone else come across this problem and can give me more pointers? :rolls:

I haven’t checked that. I’ll give it a go. Thanks for that, Rocker.

Just in case it helps anyone in future – Rocker was right. The dryer NTC was O/C, causing the drain pump circuit to shut down 1 second after getting a signal. Thanks Rocker.
Incidently the values of both NTC’s should be around 20Kohms at room temperature.
