    Hi,
    We’re getting F 13 on our iwdd7143 washer dryer.

Various internets say it’s likley the thermostat (thermistor?)

What results should i expect with a multimeter please? (Before i start dismantling the machine or buying a new part).

    Cheers

according to the machines manual F13 is as follows

NTC dryer sensor open / short circuiting. this is the electronic thermostat mounted in the dryer section at the top of the machine. it could be a loose connection, broken wire or component failure (expected resistance 20,000 ohms at 20 degrees C)

    Fan Motor jammed.

    Condenser or blower clogged

    Thanks.

Now dismantled (1 of the torx was particularly awkward but i got there)

I’m reading 19.87 ish on the 20k setting on my meter which suggests the thermostat is ok, right?

    Can’t see any worn wires.

There is a lot of lint on the fan so I’ll give that a clean.

the condenser feeds into the fan chamber. look down with a torch see if you can see a build up of fluff there too

    Thanks.

I thought if solved it. It seemed to run alright for a while after cleaning the fan.

But now fully rebuilt and it’s done an f13 again and now an f15 too! And makes a whiny noise that sounds like the fan.

I’ll try to have another word with it when i get time.

Can the fan/motor be tested while dismantled do you think?

And is there a proper way in to clean the condenser area?

any way you can. old wire coat hanger can be useful. loop on one end ( protect your eyes) and a right angled hook on the other to pull lumps out
