Indesit IWDE12 fault codes

Hi,
I am having real trouble finding a definitive list of fault codes for this m/c.
All the LED’s flash rapidly when the m/c is switched on and won’t reset.
Can anyone offer a diagnosis of the fault?

Capacitor failure on main pcb. If you are handy with a soldering iron and can source the correct capacitor its an easy fix as long as you make sure the new capacitor is fitted with correct polarity.
There are three capacitors close together, usually the largest of the three will show obvious signs of failure with a ‘domed’ top.

I have the tools and skills for that. I assume (not always a good thing to do) the PCB is top right behind the controls?

As you say, not always a good thing. 😉 main power pcb is in the base at the back, bottom left as you look at the back. Be sure to leave the machine unplugged for 10 minutes before you touch that pcb, 3 phase motor inverter can carry a hefty belt. :zap:

Got time this morning to remove the PCB and it proves your diagnosis to be spot on. :tup:

Since I can’t find a capacitor of that make, I expect that one from RS, with the same rating, will do the job.

Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong there. 8)

Any capacitor of the same rating will do, as I mentioned before make sure the capacitor is fitted in the correct polarity. 😉

That seems to have done the trick. 2 weeks without a complaint from daughter no 1. 🙂
