Indesit IWE7145 given up the ghost…

This is a cut and paste from an identical question posted 2 years ago by someone else, unfortunately with no answer – I have the identical problem….

Hello,
My washing machine has decided to stop working 1 week after our baby has arrived so its not ideal. It is an indesit IWE 7145 and has the following symptoms
1. Turns on great all programs selectable
2. after a program is selected nothing happens but time counts down
3. short drain cycles do not work – washer is silent throughout
4. if a wash cycle is selected the washer is silent until 30 mins in then a hum is heard and error code F01 – sometimes get all the lights flashing and have had a H20 code too
5. Door is always locked even when cycle is finished or before cycle is started (i have opened the door manually but problem persists).

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, i am quite handy at repair jobs and DIY but would like some advice before calling out a contractor.

More than likely the main pcb is at fault they are expensive 😕
