    Wondered if anyone could help?

My 6 year old Indesit IWME126 has been fine until this morning, but mid wash cycle it stopped (RCD tripped all the sockets, but not sure if was the washer that did that). Washer wouldn’t start after that & door locked shut. Turned off for a while, then when powered on would suddenly spin for a second & then become unresponsive.

Managed to eventually get the door to open by giving it a whack – door handle felt normal.

Now all seems as normal, but when selecting a programme & pressing start, the lights change as expected, but nothing else happens- the door also doesn’t lock shut, despite selecting “Start”.

No error lights showing. Have cleaned the pump, but nothing in there.

Did know whether to try changing the door lock mechanism as is cheap to eliminate that, or whether is pointing to a PCB or bushes issue.

Any guidance would be hugely appreciated….

    Many thanks.

check motor first. if its a brush motor its likley brushes have worn down.
get a screwdriver and give each brush holder a couple of firm taps. then try machine again
if it works you need new brushes if not it still may be brushes you just have to manualy check them
