Indesit IWME147 detergent drawer locked

After running a washing cycle at the weekend, the detergent drawer on our Indesit IWME147 is refusing to open. It’s as if it’s locked.

​​​The door will open, and the washing machine is functioning perfectly fine other than the detergent drawer being locked. We’ve run a few cycles now, tried switching it on and off again, both on the controls and at the power, and trying pulling the drawer open (but not so hard as to potentially break it).

When the fault arose, my wife had interrupted a cycle and thinks she used the “on / off” button rather than the “start / reset” button. Not sure if the problem has any connection to this?

Does anyone have any idea how we can resolve this problem?

there is no lock on the soap draw so there is no reason i can think of as to why its jammed

Aha, thanks. I was convinced it was locked, but now I know it was just jammed I forced it open and it turned out the blue insert had come loose and was blocking it. Pushed it back into place and it’s fine now. Thanks very much.
