Indesit K642R VS/G Element Earth Question

    The Element on my 5 year old Indesit K642 R VS/G has failed.
    The replacement I have bought (not from ukwhitegoods) does not have a threaded hole between the Elements on the main fixing bracket like the original.

    Is the Earth still Required? I could not test the Earthing of the oven interior as my multi-meter battery has just gone.

    Any advise?
