Hello, can anyone help 🙁 We have had an Indesit Model # 29986 for the past couple years (brought from new). It has developed a worrying problem.
The main oven will not switch off unless the main power socket is turned off or the door of the oven is left open. It would sometimes turn itself off and work properly if we turned it off at the plug, then back on again. But now it just wont turn off at all unless you carry out the above.
The top oven and hobs work as they should.
It doesn’t seem to matter if the main oven dial is off or on, the main oven still turns on untill it smokes us out due to the heat it generates.
Any help would be appreciated, we though if we paid good money for a decent oven (sales pitch from the shop) then we wouldn’t have any trouble for a few years :rolls:Re: Indesit KD6C8EX

One of two things may be happening here.
1/ If the oven continues with full function (element and oven fan,
the thermostat has probably failed in an “on” position.2/ If it is the element only which stays on, there is probably an earth leak on the element itself, effectively by-passing the thermostat.
Fan oven element can be found HERE. Main oven thermostat is part number 6102337, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prompt supply.
Power off if you intend to investigate this problem yourself.
