Indesit smart card programming

ive got to fit a new module and programme it using a smart card tommorow, as the smart card took 3 weeks to arrive i dont want to bugger it up.

do you fit the module, power up the machine and then insert the smart card?

unplug appliance wait 5 mins, change module, plug in smartcard to reader, plug in reader to module then switch on the appliance at the plug/socket and pray it works first time if not try again until you get a green light on the reader, switch off at the socket remove reader and switch on to test, which smartcard and appliance commercial code do you have. ?.
