ParticipantMy tumble dryer stopped heating. All filters etc are clean and clear. I removed the back panel and tested the thermostats and there is no continuity in one of them. It is the “Purple Dot” one. I’ve been told that Indesit recently changed their colours so I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction with a suitable replacement?

Moderatorhitting a bit of a brick wall on this one
heater and stats not listed on tech site or on any diagrams
go on indesit website and you can find a diagram but no seperate part no for stats, heater is shown but no price or part nosome of these stats can be reset. look for a small hole between the terminals where you can insert carefully a peice of stiff wire and push till it clicks

ModeratorAre you under warranty on this dryer as I think this is very new as not all the parts are listed on this model

ParticipantHello,
Thanks for the responses 🙂
It’s just out of warranty unfortunately and i’ve been given a 3 week lead time from Indesit Service dept.
I have had a look for the small hole but can’t see them unless i’m looking straight through them.
I’ll upload a picture shortly incase that helps at all 🙂

ModeratorAlso make sure it is a thermostat and not a thermistor you are testing.;)

ParticipantYes… I did think of that but the guy in my local spares shop assured me it was a thermostat. Perhaps you guys can advise more though 🙂

Moderatorif you need to add a pic you may have to host it elsewhere and post a public link due to size constraints

ModeratorTop one is a thermistor, other three are stats. These stats usually fail due to poor air circulation or constantly stopping the dryer mid cycle.

Moderatortop one is thermistor as Iadom said. the other 2 are
from bottom cycling stat one element,
one shot safety stat,
cycling stat the other elementDave

ParticipantThanks…so it’s the middle, one shot safety stat that is gone. I’m aware the stats are coloured different for different temperatures etc but is there an alternative that I can purchase or the same one just not with the purple dot?
