ParticipantHiya,
Great place you have here.
Followed advice, after having a problem with my tumble dryer. It was spinning but not heating. It turns out the green dot thermostat had blown, which i replaced as per the directions on a post on here. How proud i felt.. for about 2 days and it blew again. Doh! Seems the element was a little kinked and so i assumed this was the problem and propmptly sent off for another thermostat kit, and a replacement element.
It arrives and after installing all was well…
Until the 1st time it’s used propper, and now again its blowing cold air… not had the back off again but i’m betting the themostat has blown again but don’t know why.
Is there anything else i can check?
Something i missed
Thanks

This is an electronically controlled Indesit dryer, so the possibilties are myriad. Starting with the simplest and working up……..
1/ Condenser monobloc choked. The machine is basically an air pump, so it’s ability to move air is critical.
2/ Channel through door after the filter choked. Surprisingly common.
3/ Rear fan loose on shaft. This is usually a give away due to noise.
4/ Mrs Rezbo opening the door during the programme……. Motor stops, heat soars, pop. Can be a very complex problem to solve as most Mrs don’t like being told “Don’t” by their significant, non-laundry conversant, other.
5/ And highly possible – stuck relay on electronc board. Thermostat cycles the temperature – relay on pcb doesn’t.Sorry, no straightforward answer to the problem. Stay safe, plug off before removing panels.

Yeah thanks for the reply, had a look on the help areas after posting last night and then started checking the list of things similar to what you posted (thanks!)
Definitely 1 & 4… except it was me checking the drying, and not mrs rezb0 🙂 …makes sense to me now why not to do that, as the hot air just rises up without the motor turning and pops the thermostat…
And the monobloc was clogged up… never even realised that was there… how rubbish is that!
Well i’m well up to speed on all things in the land of tumble now thanks to you lot here, keep up the good work
Cheers
