    I have an indesit tumble dryer here, when you press the start button it wont come on but if you hold the start button pressed dryer starts. There is a little pcb on the facia panel that is looped with the start switch and the timer. Would this pcb be the problem? Is it possible to bypass it?

    No, that is the relay pcb, needs changing.
