ParticipantIndesit WIDL126S 14 months old. Vibrates badly when spinning. I have checked the drum fixings and the bearings and spider. The top springs do not seem to be under a great deal of tension.Wirh the top off the drum is shaking very badly. Any ideas.
Regards
Pete

That’s a bit odd? 😕
With the lid off and pushing down on the tub do the springs and dampers seems to function OK? The top springs should do their bit I would have thought? So perhaps one of the dampers has seized? 😕

Are the weights secure. Have seen these vibrate off and disintegrate.

Have tried all of the above. Could it be a crack in the drum spider.?

I have had a drum spider failure at 15 months on one of these. Our very soft water combined with low temp washes and liquid detergents eat drum spiders for fun, I change two or three Hotpoint 95/WM ones every week.
It is usually fairly obvious if you pull on the inner drum though.
Is it in a soft water area and subjected to that kind of use?

we are are in a very hard water area. Is it much of a job to change the drum.

Sealed drum , more than the machine is worth. Better of sending them to Indesit for the maximum repair charge job.
I would have thought it would have been obvious if the drum support had gone, the drum support is very thin on these so the inner drum should be easy to pull about to check on the drum support.

Jim I checked that and there was no play i think it must have been a hairline crack as it only vibrated at full spin speed. The customer has decided to scrap it.
