Can someone help? When we load up the machine, close the door and switch on the red power light comes on and stays on and nothing happens. No flashing red light, no humming, no drum rotating, no water filling (have verified good water supply), no nothing in fact, it just sits their with the red power light on and it does not matter what program we use. We left it powered off overnight then tried again and it filled with water but once it stopped filling it just stopped with the red light on. I don’t think it’s the heater because it does the same on cold wash programs. Any help much appreciated.

Can you hear the door lock click,it should, can you open the door a few seconds after you have pressed the on/off switch, you should not be able to do. If so it could be your door interlock switch, but it could also have other causes. The best advice is to see if we have someone in your area who can help, click on my sig to check. Plug out if you are going to investigate further.

Door lock seems to be working as I can’t open it until the machine’s been switched off for a few minutes.

That is about as far as you can go without proper test equipment and specialist knowledge, time to bite the bullet and call for a professional. 😉

Thanks for the replies but we bought a new Zanussi instead (much quieter!) and probably not much more money than getting it repaired. 😀
