ParticipantHi folks
Pretty sure this is a module problem but just wondered if anyone else has come across the same or any other posible faults:
Machine keeps filling till overfill contact comes on in pressure swith then pump cuts in. Reset machine and valve is still activated until switched off on main on/off button. Can put machine into spin mode and works fine as long as tap switched off otherwise still fills.
The complaint was that the machine was overfilling although there was no valve activation till programe started then valve wouldn’t switch off till on/off button opperated. Seems as if what ever switches valve on resets after some time then sticks on once reactivated.
Checked for neutral/earth fault just in case and machine mega’s out ok.
Can PCB’s be sent anywhere to be checked and faults like this picked up and repaired or is it best just to replace with new?

Yes it’s the module (I had one last week – sorted thanks to Tony and the lads at EMW 🙂 )
In my case the cold valve was energised on all programmes including spin and just kept filling!!!!!!!!

Hmm. You did try the obvious first though? I mean faulty valve. They do stick on sometimes especially if you’re in a hardwater area or there’s dirt in the supply.

Lady was filling machine then turning off at tap when she thought the right level. After a while there was a burning smell…..

I’ve had this a few times, double figures easy over the past 12mths, I’ve always changed the module (and eeprom if the one on the original is soldered) and have not had one come back to bite me on the ass yet 😀

took out a brand new hotpoint wf 530 today turned it on it did exactly the same fills continually untill switched off at the mains much the same board as the indesit and just as cr***y customer asked us to get this machine especially so she doesnt mind having to wait untill next week for a replacement.
why when theres a huge electronics industry r&d cant they get it right or at least sort it out ?moan over wilf

There’s an array of transistors in a nice neat little line on these boards. If you track the wiring back from the valve to the edge connector, you can work out which one is used to switch the open valve and change it for the princely sum of 37p – or rob one off the duff board we all have kicking about in the van somewhere.
Customer is always impressed 😀 .

just a note may save u some costs, if you are good with a soldering iron and have a desolder pump,u can desolder the eeprom from original module and put into socket on new module.please make sure half moon shape cut out on eeprom chip matches with cut out on socket when fiiting, hope this helps rgds gazza.
