indesit w123s error code 8

every time i start a wash cycle it fills for about 15 seconds then the pump starts and the program dial clicks round. i then get 8 flashes from the red light. can anyone help please?

First thing to check is the ‘Pump/ Filter Unit’ If the pump is blocked it can cause this error. However if it is clear and the pump OK, then I fear the problem is much more severe I’m afraid. The main electronic circuit board the likely culprit AND expensive to replace 🙁

Thanks for the responses. Fingers crossed it seems ok now. I stripped it down at the weekend and checked the pump for gunk, cleaned the moulded plastic tray from the water inlet to the detergent tray and pulled off and checked the connection of all connectors. Put it all back together and it seems to be ok. Have done 4 loads now with no problems. Maybe an intermittent contact.

Update: Machine worked fine for the first day, did about 3 loads with no probs. It was then used the following day and started doing the same thing. The only difference is now the flash error code is 1 🙁 . Any ideas?

More than likely it is a motor problem or connections between the motor and module (to connector block “CNE” on Module)

Unplug machine completely from the mains before attempting any inspections!

Ok, i’ll check the connections. The motor does run though so it can’t be a connection thats come off. It does the same thing when i try a spin cycle as well. Pump starts and drum rotates for about 15 seconds, then the drum stops and the dial rotates with the error code 1.
