S/N 107165814 80233690101I went to one of these today. Customer told me that the control dial skips round and it doesn’t complete its cycle. I know this is fault mode so I began to investigate.
Heater is ok, and I tested it with a mega. Motor is ok (tested with mega also). Carbon brushes are ok. NTC sensor on the heater seems to be ok (I attached my meter to it and poured hot water down the dispenser, the resistance altered straight away. All three water valves are ok, the pump filter is clear and the pump sounds good, it also drains fine.
So, perhaps the control selector? do these frequently fail? EPROM perhaps? or Control pcb?
I’m suspecting the usual Russian roulette game with electronic modules, However I did find a kink in the hot fill hose and the little EPROM chip didn’t appear to be seated correctly in its 8 pin socket. Someone was house sitting so they had no idea what it was doing. I put it all back together and left it running to see what happens. Oh, and all the connections to the PCB are good and I cant see any dry joints.
Help please….
Thanks,

Hi Rob,
did you try resetting the program? Turn dial to a stop point on the program, hold reset button till red light flashes rapidly and then slowly, try choosing program again. If it doesn’t reset then likely to be main module. 🙁

Hi, yes I did re-set the program. Forgot to mention that customer said on the phone that it’s leaving its conditioner, but when I looked at this, it was very blocked up, unless it’s never getting to that part of the cycle.

Just been in contact with the customer and she says its now working, she’s on her seccond wash. 😯
We will see…
So for the reccord, does a faulty heater relay = new PCB then?May 28, 2008 at 8:01 pm #253147Penguin45

It’s only allegedly the relay – heater circuit on the board just seems to break down……..
