ParticipantHi All,
I have taken off the washer top, removed the screws holding the dispenser and control panel, question is how do i remove the front panel to access the drum/seal wire?
Hope you can help,

If you remove the plastic panel with the knobs at the top and also the plastic plinth at the bottom which slides left once the screws at filter are removed, you will see 4 screws, 2 top 2 bottom, remove these and the frt will slide down and off.

Thanks Steve,
Just one further question, how do you remove the plug from the filter to check inside? It undoes half a turn (water runs out) but thats as far as it seems to undo.
Cheers.

That’s because there’s something inside preventing the filter from rotating. The only solution therefore is to remove the pump/filter unit complete and tackle the blockage that way.

This is an Indesit machine. :rolls: One piece cabinet, the front does not come off, you have to struggle from the top and front through the port hole. 🙁
It also has two different, non interchangable door seals. The only way to find out which one you have is to remove it to see what type of strap/band is holding the seal to the outer drum, it will be a spring band or a wire clamp band, just hope its the spring or you will rue the day you attemped to repair it. 😐
No screws in the plinth either, it just prises off. 😉

Bent nosed pliers and fairy liquid.

Apparently a large plastic bag tie as a ‘third hand’ helps as well. 😉

Thanks everyone,
It took me three n half hours but I got there 😀 ! Steve: It was a 5p in the filter. As iadom mentioned the front panel is pressed on and it has the wire band 🙁 I used a tie wrap to pull the band together all the while wishing (as Kiddo66 mentioned) that I’d bought that pair of bent-nosed pliers last time I needed them years ago, it seemed a luxury at the time :rolls: So next shopping day guess what I’ll be buying 😆
Cheers

PS: Don’t worry Steve, Indesit or Bosch, I appreciate the helpful and quick reply.March 9, 2012 at 8:26 pm #370649stevebunyan
