ParticipantHelp – my Indesit washing machine has a metal object (metal bead) stuck between the outer drum and the inner wheel. I have removed the front filter, rocked the machine back and forth but it will not come loose.
Question – how do I remove this object (it is loose and you can hear it rattling about as the wheel turns/spins etc)?
I can not get at the sump hose from the back of the machine (they are at the front) to remove, is it possible to put the machine on its side and access the sump from this position? or should the machine never be put on its side etc.
All help gratefully received.
With thanks

KeymasterSally,
Sometimes getting stuff out from between the inner drum and out tank is difficult for us and, by the way, a nightmare as well at times! In the worst case the engineer may actually have to strip out the drum to remove the foreign object.
I’d also strongly advise against using the machine for now. Just the other day I had a customer’s machine which required an inner drum, outer tank (front and rear) and heater because of a 20p piece. Total repair cost was way over £250!

Are you saying that I need to call out an engineer then?

KeymasterIf you can’t get to the object I’d advise it, as it is very possible that it could cause damage.

Sally,
You can get into real trouble with this model accessing between the inner and outer drum as they are one complete pressing and cannot be dismantled.
An engineer will be better qualifed in trying to remove whatever it may be but be warned there is no guarantee because of its inherently bad design!
Bra Wires are the most common type of things stuck between drums, most are easy to remove but on this Indesit….???****!!!!NO CHANCE

Thanks guys
An engineer is coming out next Tues – keep yr fingers crossed, as this could prove a very costly exercise – the bit stuck is a toggle off the end of a drawstring on trackie bottoms!Regards
