ParticipantHi folks
Getting to dread f8 faults on these Indesits..
Went to this the other day – checked for earth faults, heater, pcb burn outs all ok.. tightened connections, checked m/c opperation and all seemed ok..
Cust come to use and same thing.. changed module from EMW and changed pressure switch on their recomendation.. tested with a load in, stayed till heater came on and watched through a couple of rinses and spin all ok..
Cust phoned again this am still coming up with f8 fault..
The only thing left I can come up with is the heater themistor(NTC?)as can’t rember seeing the button type NTC fitted to the rear of the tub.. have found earth fault on those before now (button type NTC that is)..
What in your experence is the main cause of these f8 faults and is there any thing i have missed?
Why does it seem to correct itself when i take the board off and when i run it through a few tests and then play up the next wash?
In the past i have found it to be due to any of the following – loose connections on pcb connector blocks, heater o/c & earth fault, earth on NTC and dry joint on pcb..
Have had faulty pressure switches but they have come up with different fault code..
Help and comments appreciated..
Thanks
Mick

I too hate F8 on these. I’ve even had the boards tested and sent back as ok everything tests out ok and works for a wash or two then throws a wobbly again. all you can do is to advise that this problem is not uncommon. I would like to know if anyone the actually “resolved” it.

Went today as a last ditch effort to change heater NTC but found I had been advised wrong one as the one i went with had pins for tag connections and the one fitted looked on closer exam that it was fitted as part on the heater element and had pin connections..but just out of persaverance squeezed up the connector block to NTC connections on heater.. m/c started working ok..
Full of sceptism changed module and pressure switch back as I was fed up and was calling it a day told custmer to try it but would probly fail again and to go buy a new m/c..
message when I finished tonight that she had done two washes ok…
:rolls:Moral of the story… yet another place to try for poor connections of these m/c’s the heater NTC connector block..
