Hi, I just replaced the motor brushes for the second time in less than a year (which concerned me) and the machine worked fine for about 2 days. Now it fills with water but then stops and refuses to go any further. The drum does not turn. LED flashes an error but too fast to count the number of flashes.

If i empty the machine and drain it then start it again empty it runs through the entire cycle fine.

    Any ideas?

The motor or brushes would be the obvious suspects I would think.

Hi thanks for the reply – I only installed new brushes 2 days before the latest issue so maybe I made a mistake. I’ll check them.

BTW should the carbon parts be touching the rotating part of the motor or not? they come with a clip on them to hold the block in but wan’t sure of I should remove them to allow the carbon to brush the spinning part.

Yes remove the clip they should make full contact.

thanks checked again and the brushes are worn again after only two washes. I checked and the commutator is all pitted and parts of it broken so looks like a new motor required.
