My washing machine has been playing up for weeks now; sometimes it works with a cold wash, but never with a hot one. With the dial clicking round indicating a problem, the LED flash count is 7. Any ideas as to what type of fault this is? I can’t find any other posts regarding this code.

It’s a heater relay problem, that means the main board is at fault (as the relay is on the main board). Ultimately it will need a new module board, the heater checking (insulation breakdown etc) and possibly the Pressure switch for good measure? 😥

Judging from other posts, the solution described by Martin seems to address fault code 8 -Is this the same as fault code 7?
If so, could I buy a new relay instead of a whole board?

Fault code 7 is an open circuit heater – check with meter – plug out first

Cheers franz – it was indeed an open circuit with the heater element 😀
