Hi I have the Indesit W161 washing machine and the programme selector button keeps turning when the machine is switched on the red power light flashes 8 times any ideas please Graeme

Most likely the heater has failed at best, at worst its the heater relay gone on the circuit board….. Possibly even BOTH 😥

Hi the washing machine seemed to repair itself (a miracle?) and is working fine for now. Thought I would let you know, I need a new instruction manual and when I phoned Merloni/Indesit was told it would cost £11.31!!!! Thanks again for your help Graeme

Total tosh my friend, I don’t know how you came by that info? Instead, look up your machines ‘Product Code’ from the back panel, then download a FREE version of the user manual direct from Indesits website…..

Hi I emailed both “info@indesitcompany.com” and “mktg.uk@merloni.com” requesting instruction manual. I received an email from them with tel no 08709 077 077 and when I phoned I was told it was £11.31 for a replacement manual!!!!!

A few days later I received a complimentary manual through the post.

If there is any way I can get a copy to you, please let me know.

If it is not that big, you can scan it by a scaner and send it directly to my e-mail(hunter191@hotmail.com) , if its too much big , just sellect the important pages like the programs detail and the opeartion steps ( and you will own me a one )

You are definitely right , but the problem here is that I’am not in the UK now – my work required me to be -.
And Indesit agent here know nothing about this type (w161 uk) for that as you can see I am suffering to have it in any way ( for god sake )
