    Hi

I’ve checked and searched for a solution to a 4-flash error but can’t find one. The machine gets most the way through the cycle but clicks round at or near the rince/spin part of the cycle. The pump is not blocked, fliter clean (found 2p!), drain pipe not kinked, drive belt ok and secure, not loose.

I was getting code 1 (motor triac fault, in essence there is ‘possibly’ a fault on your main PCB). replacement circuit board fitted with new eprom. Now code 4 is coming up!

Motor brushes seemed ok but perhaps could be changed.

    Any ideas please?

    Thanks in advance! πŸ™‚

F4 is supposed to signify a pressure switch stuck on empty.

If you are very lucky you may get away with a new pressure switch, sadly due to the quality :rolls: of the electronics on this machine the odds are very much against you.

There is a very good chance trhe main PCB is faulty. πŸ˜₯

New board fitted – will check pressure switch though. Simple on/off I assume. can I suck/blow the pipe and use a electrical test meter?

just out of curiosity was it a new board if it was and fault wasnt there before then i would be looking at connections TBH.

The connectors have all been cleaned with electrical contact cleaner spray.

The original board had a Fault Code 1 so I changed it – now code 4 appears. as the machine could not show both 1 and 4 at the same time I would suspect, correct me if i am wrong, the code 4 was already present but obscured by the present code 1.

    whats your reckoning?

You don’t really want to know, but it includes ‘junk’ and ‘nearest tip’ :rolls:

Now you have spent all that money you may as well try a new pressure switch, blowing up it won’t really reveal much.

there ya go if you would have answered that in the 1st place it would have saved a bit of our time, how can we tell you whats wrong if we only get a small portion of the story, was it a recon from a proper place ? or a shop that has just ripped it out of an old machine and sold it on ?

I did say in my first post the board had been repalced, with a new eprom too. It was a recon board from a reputable company, as reputable as I could determine anyway πŸ™‚

but you didnt say it was new and thats why i asked the question , because believe it or not second hand parts can be faulty :rolls: , also did they tell you it had new eeprom ❓ or did you fit it yourself ❓ is it the right eeprom for that machine ❓ because there are loads of them TBH just scrap it i think you will be running around in circles now, will save everyones time and your money .

OK thanks – I’ll go to the tip later but in the meantime…………

does anyone know the wiring for the pressure switch?

there are 4 wires – blue black brown and red.

I assumed the red was the signal back to the circuit board, but there is no connection to any of the other 3 whether there is pressure in pipe or not. I’m assuming this is not right!!

I can’t see the Rule to which you refer.

sorry you feel that way Smartin. I was looking for some knowledgeable assistance, not just β€œbin-it” or “Buy a new one”. Some bloke down the pub who saw Elvis could say that! Its not at all helpful to me or anyone reading this in the future.

The forums I regularly participate in others and myself are only too happy to assist others members whether the query is silly or most technical. My trade isn’t washing machines but I do have a good electrical/mechanical background to draw on.

If anyone can help me it would be appreciated- money is tight and Β£250-300 for a new machine say a Bosch in not on the cards at the moment for reasons I’m not discussing here.

Re: Indesit W93 4 flashes and clicks round

I did advise trying a new pressure switch earlier in this thread, πŸ˜‰ they are not that expensive. I would advise against trying a second hand one as it will almost certainly be weakened.

You should get a circuit between at least two connections on the pressure switch.

Believe me that when trade members tell you to bin it, it is not because we don’t care. Sadly we have become completely disillusioned by the garbage that several whitegoods manufacturers purvey, the Indesit Company is one of the worst culprits. We see hundreds, nay thousands of these things and it is soul destroying to have to try and repair them. πŸ˜₯

There are different pressure switches used on these machines, if you give us the full model number, is it a W93UK/A or W93UK/B and also the full serial number we can give you the correct part number.
    Jim.
