Indesit WA155 – filter removal

Hi all,

Just been given a washing machine. Thought the first thing I should do to it is drain down and clean out filter.

I have removed the white panel/valance running along the bottom of the washing machine.

I have turned the filter handle anticlockwise until it goes no more and allowed the water to drain out.

I am pretty sure that one just pulls on this filter handle and withdraws the filter out towards you, but it won’t budge. Pliers just slip off. Any ideas?

If it won’t pull clear, there is an obstruction. You need to lean the machine back and drop the pump, then remove the bottom hose and get it out from the side.

Power off, of course.

Free was very expensive for one of these………
