    Hi All,

I’m looking for a double cold water inlet valve for my Indesit washer dryer. Some details (from the back):

    Model: WDG1095
    Type: LA4674C
    S/N: 910043112

Photo of valve here. Water inlet is through the back panel.

I have been unable to find this specific part – the majority of valves from online suppliers are singles, and the only doubles I have found are straight through rather than the 90ΒΊ parts shown in the photo. One hose feeds to the detergent/conditioner drawer on the front and I’m not sure what the other pipe leads to.

Any help in sourcing this part would be greatly appreciated,
    Thanks,
    James

What is the actual problem with the valve ? That type of valve is available but not as common. However if the fault is a OC solenoid, you can with care remove the solenoid from any other similar valve and swop it with the one on yours. Not sure if they are in the shop@ but I wouldn’t mind betting they soon will be. πŸ˜‰

C00021864 is Β£33.52 inc VAT and delivery.

I can order one for you if required – email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk

Otherwise, if the solenoid is open circuit, do as iadom mentions and order a universal one and swap the coils over – power off of course :plug:

Re: Indesit Washer/Dryer Double Cold Water Inlet Valve

What is the actual problem with the valve ?

The washing machine operates fine but whilst turned off, water very slowly accumulates in the drum. Left for a week and it can fill up quite a lot – it flooded the kitchen last week when I opened the door 😯

I suspect the washer has perished and is letting water through when the water pressure is higher than normal. Is there any other fault that you folks can think of that might be causing this problem? If not then I’ll contact you (Dave) off list about the part.

Thanks very much for all the replies and help with the part ID.
    Regards,
    James

Sounds like valve letting by and the valve will have to be replaced πŸ˜€

It can also be caused by a badly routed outlet/waste pipe allowing water from the sink to enter the drum, if the outlet pipe is connected directly to the sink waste pipe. If you turn off the cold water and it stops the drum from filling then a faulty valve is the only possible cause.

Re: Indesit Washer/Dryer Double Cold Water Inlet Valve

I have an Indesit machine with EXACTLY the same problem. It is a WD12 washer dryer about 4 years old.

Is the part number for the double inlet valve the same as for the other customers machine, or do I need a different one, and can you supply it?

Re: Indesit Washer/Dryer Double Cold Water Inlet Valve

Problem solved πŸ™‚ Bit of a saga really, hence the reason for the delay in replying.

We wanted to find out if it really was the valve, so I turned off the cold water inlet valve. At least, I tried to – the thing was jammed in the open position and even the pliers wouldn’t shift it. So down to B+Q for a new valve.

Time to take the old valve off. Water off at mains, undo nut on valve, slide off valve – it’s completely furred up and corroded inside – no wonder it wouldn’t turn off. OK let’s cut the olive off so I can get the nut off. Ah.

Turns out that the pikeys the landlord had employed to put some water-carrying copper pipe together (I won’t grace it with the word “plumbing”) had used such a short bit of pipe for this valve, that the nut wouldn’t slide down the pipe far enough to get the hacksaw on the olive. So we had to cut through the nut on either side with an old hacksaw to remove it from the pipe. All this whilst doing an impression of a contortionist underneath the smallest sink cabinet in existence.

New valve on (eventually) – then forget all about it because we decided to buy a house. On disconnecting the drain pipe to the washer so that we could move it, a load of foul smelling water came out of the drain pipe. Emptying anything down the sink then results in stuff coming out of the washing machine drain attachment. Bugg3r it.

Washing machine installed in new place with own drain outlet (not shared) with no problems at all.

Thanks very much for all the helpful replies to this topic, it’s much appreciated. Consider this episode closed.

    Best regards,
    James

πŸ™‚ Thanks for letting us know the outcome.
