Participantover a space of time the drying function on our machine got less and less efficient until now it doesnt dry the clothes at all. the machine spins and completes the cycle but everything still comes out wet. the glass at the front of the machine used to be scorching hot when it worked properly but now its barely lukewarm. we’ve had it looked at by 3 different engineers who thought it might be the thermostat, salenoid but when checked said everythign was doing what it was supposed to, heating up accordingly and couldnt find anything wrong. any suggestions?
also it was suggested by someone since that the air supply might be blocked.. any idea where on machine this is located or how to get at it??
any help appreciated!February 4, 2005 at 11:38 am #125076Simon46

Was it getting noisy when the dryer fan started up?

Lindag,
The most common cause of such a complaint is simply that the condenser water inlet nozzle/regulator is blocked and no water flows into the condenser ducting 🙁 .
Was that part ever replaced do you know ❓ (Part No: C00032846)

no it wasnt getting noisy, and that condensor part was never replaced. how would i go about checking if that is the real problem??

It’s not easy to tell without taking the condenser apart and physically checking to be honest.
Perhaps ask one of the previous engineers to take another look ?

It’s part of the dryer unit.
Not a DIY job in all honesty as it entails quite a bit of component removal 😉

For obvious reasons we are not obliged to give specifics here as it involves as certain amount of dismantling at the very least. Suffice to say and indeed repeat what my colleague Dave Conway said earlier, do please consult the engineers that looked at it originally. You are armed at least with the knowledge you have gained from us ‘experts’ 😉
Not a problem to sort ultimately 😀

thanks for that. needless to say i have no intention of interfering with it myself! i merely wanted to know so that i can be certain the engineer is checking it out – am a bit dubious as to the extent of his “stripping down” of the machine the last time 😉
