Re: Indesit washing machine WIB101 belt question?

Sounds like a slightly worn pulley, part number C00064527, around £18.00.

If the belt is now staying on the you should be able to use it until you get a new pulley.

As iadom said above, if you have the nylon pulley it may need replacing as the center will normally be worn due to the wobbling movement the pulley makes whilst loose…

The replacement is part number C00064527, normally a metal pulley to correct the problem.

If you can not get the bolt off with the normal tools then you will need to use a small chisel or similar tool to tap the edge of the bolt to eleviate its grip on the pulley; however, if you do this then you may need to replace the bolt too.

Well i got machine going for a while, no more than 10 mins,
then i heard the belt come off.

I took off back of machine again and the bolt/screw in centre of pulley had loosened itself again, so i unscrewed took off pulley, there seems to be no wear or tear on either bolt/screw or pulley?

There is alot of black dust, i assume/hope this is normal?

Re: Indesit washing machine WIB101 belt question?

No, the black dust is a sign of a worn pulley and TBH if you keep using it like this you will end up wearing the drum shaft as well.

You need to get a new pulley ASAP and use some kind of Loctite locking solution on the threads of the securing nut.

You can get Loctite ‘thread lock’ from most DIY stores etc.

If it was nice and free without any noise before you fitted the pulley then either you have fitted the wrong pulley or allowed large amounts of loctite to get into the bearings????

Not being able to see it makes it difficult, if you remove the pulley and refit the old one and it spins freely then either the pulley is faulty or is fitted incorrectly.

What is the full serial number of your machine, does the new pulley look like the old one?

Re: Indesit washing machine WIB101 belt question?

If it runs freely without the pulley then there is a problem with the pulley.. either fitting or otherwise.. However, if it is still stiff when you remove the pulley then it sounds like the bearings were worn and in the 2 months since the last problem they have seized.

Although as iadom has said, it is hard to determine without seeing the machine.

Re: Indesit washing machine WIB101 belt question?

my old pulley was plastic, the new one is metal?
    different hole opening on both?

when the old pulley is on no squeaking/squealing noise, just the slight knocking, machine died in august? and have not used it, Bearing have now seized up? not sure that sounds right?
when i turn the dum buy itself with no pulley, there isn’t any noise, knocking or squealing

old plastic pulley fits snug and all the way back on part that comes out back of drum, when i put the new pulley and push it all the way back, it sqeaks/squeals when i turn it.
I have tried it without pushing it all the way on and attach belt it spins with no noise, but belt does not stay on and its doesn’t turn straight.
