If the pulley has any movement on the shaft at all it is best to fit a new pulley and then Loctite the bolt very tight.

Without doubt it should rotate straight and true. Trouble is that when an alloy pulley works loose inevitably it’s inside edges wear. If there is any movement at all on the shaft then no matter how tight the bolt it will work loose very swiftly. I would not hesitate but to put on a new pulley (C00064527).
The belt you fitted was a stretch belt wasn’t it?

thanks for your reply martin. the pulley is a plastic or baklite. there was some play in the pulley.
with the torx bolt you dont think you are getting a lot of torx. when tightening would it not be better with a hexibolt.
or a hexibolt would let you apply to much torx and crack the pulley. would it matter if there is slight movement in the drum.
no noise on spin thanks. fasetester.

You never use a question mark so I always have to read your post twice to find the missing question. Can you use one of these is future please?
The Torx bolt will be fine but you must use Loctite on the thread first. 😉
