    Hi!
My Indesit wax 120 has started to throw a wobbly. When you set it off on a programme the water fills and then emptys again. the dial starts clicking round and the red light flashes 8 times. What is this telling me??
So far it seems intermittent and you can eventually get it to do a cycle and if you put a second load in straight away it washes it no problem.
    Cheers!

It means that there is a problem with the computer board activating the heater relay. It almost always means that the computer board is goosed.

The New Years’ Sales are on……..

    Thanks!
I had an Indesit before, was given to us second hand as the motor pulley had started going round, the engineer insisted a new motor at £100 so the guy bought a new one. We inherited the old one, spot welded the pulley and it went for years! So when it did give up I decided to get another. 🙁 It has actually done a few years no bother!
Anyway, I have just stripped the computer board off the machine and undone all connections, as I read someone on another forum had done. Checked all the wiring was secure, especially on the heater, put it all back together again and it is going OK! for now, Time will tell. BUT I am beginning to be convinced that to get a reliable washing machine now days you do have to pay! Has the quality gone down with washing machines like everything else?? Nothing seems to last. I know off washers and driers that are still going after 20-25 years!
    Cheers!

The honest answer is that, with a very few exceptions, you will get what you pay for.

As repairers, many of us are sick to death of cheap cr@p and that led us to start the ISE project. Decent machines at sensible prices, which are economically repairable if problems do arise in the future.
