Indesit WD 11 Dorr hinge.

I’ve recently had to purchase a new door for my Indesit WD 11, upon arrival I’ve removed the old broken door and am having a fair amount of difficulty fitting the new one. Is there a connection behind the frame of the door that the hinge is supposed to be screwed onto? There’s no thread and the screws do not seem to tighten.

Probably a very simple answer to a very stupid question, but I’m at a loss and if it’s not fitted by the time the Mrs gets home I’m in trouble!!!!

yes there was probably a metal plate with threaded holes which has probably dropped down inside the machine. the best way to gain access to it is to remove the wire band and then fold back the door seal. (with the power off and plug out) you should be able to find the metal plate. once you find it you should be able to sort it out, the trouble is it is easier with two people so you might have to wait for the misses to come home, you dont want to drop the door and smash the glass now.
