ParticipantHello clever people
Our Indesit WD10 has developed a problemI think through research that it’s a water level sensor problem
The symptoms are:-
Press on button
Timer knob continually turns
Fault code 10 flashes the power button
Pump starts to try to empty machine
I manually put a gallon of water in and tested it does emptyCan anyone tell me where the water level sensor is located and what it looks like please?
Cheers

You surmise correctly. The level switch can be identified by a skinny plastic tube running down from it.
Check that the airbell at the other end of the tube is not full of gunge, holding the switch in the closed position. The switch itself should “click” when gently pressurised, and again when pressure is released.
Bear in mind that the computer board is notoriously unreliable – if the above points check out, this may well be the culprit.
Power off if removing any panel; if you’re not confident, click the link below for a UKW engineer.

OK So I’ve checked the pressure switch
very gentle blow and it clicks, release pressure and it clicks againI’ve dis-assembled the waste unit, all is clean and no gunk
Before I put it back together, are there any other checks to be made
in this area, as it’ll be a pain to re-assemble it only to have to strip it again.Cheers

OK I’ve fixed it 😀
I took the processor board out and noticed a track was burnt out
There is a small track on the left hand side of the PCB that is VERY
close to the mains supply track. This must be a really common problem on this PCB
I’ve replaced the track with a link and the whole thing came to life.
What a good all round engineer am I !!! hehehe
Thought I’d share that with you all
Thanks for the assistance
