KeymasterI had a problem with this washer/dryer machine a few weeks back when the clicking started and showed 8 flashes as the error code. Got an (alleged) engineer out who replaced the pump (when it was working perfectly fine !?), and on seeing the problem carry on, then replaced the motor. This worked for the start of the cycle but started sparking and on inspection i found that he’d replaced a 430W motor with a 320W one – not the best idea in the world.
I went out and bought my own motor, replaced his replacemnt and the machine was working fine for 2 weeks.
I now have the same problem. The cycle starts, the drum fills and the pump drains for a moment before the dreaded clicking starts and instead now 15 flashes appear. (at least a bit of variety eh!)I’ve trawled through the other Indesit posts but can’t find a reference to the 15 flash error code.
Any good samaritans there got any advice………..?
the machines about 3 years old.
I’ve tried to run it through a rinse cycle only and still the same problem.
Thanks all…

The replacement may well have been Indesit’s own “updated” version 😉
I don’t think there is a 15 flash error code to be honest 😕

May well be a fault in the dryer part of the machine. I have had this several times as a thermistor failure on the heater box. It can also be a computer board failure realted to the heater circuits.

He’s replaced both, but it was the main motor he underrated. Also, I don’t think it could have been an updated motor for a difference of that magnitude – the engineer admitted it was his oversight when he came back for payment later on too.
Definately 15 flashes too – 😕 – looks like its a thinker !!thanks

Penguin45.Does it look like being a costly problem if this is the case?
Is it a matter of replacing a component part of the board, or the whole board? And how could i narrow it down to one problem?

Thermistor is on top of heater box. It should give a reading in kohms when tested with a meter. Also check wires to it as they have a habit of breaking internally.
If all ok likely to be computer board fault, likely cost in excess of £80 plus VAT. Will need full model number and preferably serial number to identify exactly which one is required.

Hi,
I realise this is an old post now, but does anyone know whether Monkeylover got his problem sorted – our Ariston AWD12 is also failing to wash and providing a 15 flash code.
Checked the drying side – all seems fine and dandy (and functioning), but everytime we set up a wash it starts up and then exhibits the 15 flashes.
Cheers
Andy

As the original post was in 2005 there is a 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} chance that the machine has already joined many thousands of other Indesit washer dryers on the local tip.
F15 is supposed to signify a dryer heater related fault on the PCB, sadly the electronics on Indesit machines are one of the worst on the market and do fail with alarming regularity. 😥

Thanks.
I was fearing the worst but fortunately the engineer that came round identified the pressure switch as the apparent problem and replaced it, giving the AWD12 a stay of execution for the moment.
All seems to be working now, fingers crossed!
