ParticipantHi
I have an Indesit WD 12 which works perfectly except for one thing, the dryer doesnt get hot.
The drum rotates, the timer works but there is no hot air, any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Can you hear the blower fan running? No air flow, no heat and safety stat may well trip as a consequence.

I have an Indesit WD12 too. I got home at the weekend and the house RCD had tripped. Later I noticed that the dryer does not warm up any more. The drum spins fine – just no heat.
I can’t hear a blower fan running. Is it easy to get to / replace?

It’s under the lid 😉
Power off when checking please :zap: or maybe call an engineer, check the repairs@ link below.

OK, I got home and ran the dryer for a bit, and sounded like the impeller was going ok. Powered off and had a look inside, and the coil wasn’t at all warm, but wasn’t discouloured or anything.
At that point I reached my limit – is there a trip for the coil somewhere I could reset?
Thanks for any help,

Probably the element then given that it blew the trip. No reset I’m afraid.
Maybe time for an engineer to check to be honest, try the repairs@ link below 😀

Thanks for the info. I’m living in Germany at the moment, so it’s no use me contacting a UK engineer.
If it’s likely to be the element, then I could order and fit myself. I think I’d rather have a go than get somebody out over here.
Thanks for the help.

Thanks for link – that’s the best price I’ve seen. I’m just going to check with the multimeter tonight to make sure its not a thermal fuse that other posters have mentioned.

Did a continuity check on the old element and it must have been broken inside the earth sheathing somewhere. Fitted the new heater element last night and works a treat.
Thanks for the help! -
