ParticipantSheesh! I don’t seem to get the easy ones. Bearings disintegrated, so – many, many hours and Torx tool purchasing, bearings replaced. Everything now nice and free. Put in a wash load and the thing seems to struggle to tumble. Even just stood still with hum from motor, then it seemed to try a faster rotation and threw water out onto the floor. Settled back to a half hearted tumble, stopped and does the knob rotating thing. I suspect a dodgy motor – not enough low down torque any more? Would it be fair to start with motor replacement? Does anyone do new or recon motors? – Partmaster seems to only supply brushes and armature. Don’t fancy trying to “recon” the thing myself. (P.S. It started doing this with knackered bearing – was hoping that it was due to jamming drum, but with new bearings drum rotates freely and quietly).

Cooked armature – classic symptoms. Motor complete, I’m afraid.

Cheers, thanks for the confirmation. Oh, chucking water out onto the floor? This is normal when tumble speed is too high? Or have I got major damage to the drum housing?

If it doesn’t leak when motor is not running then your drum should be OK.
Motor is C00074221, near enough £100 😥

Hi Guy’s,
Thanks for all the help with my machines so far – have given in now. Have paid Indesit £105.00 for an engineer to come out and “fix it”, no matter whats wrong, or what spares are required. Tried it again this evening, damned thing started of brilliantly – was doing a rinse only to try get the soap out the clothes. 1st rinse dead right, 2nd rinse, chucked out a spot of water, 3rd rinse, decided to keep filling irrespective, made a swimming pool on the floor – madley switching things off etc. Reset and did a drain only – no problem. Tried a spin cycle – starts off, then 8 flashes and rotating knob. “Unable to operate heater relay? Had temp off – cold wash. Why does it want to heat the water on a spin cycle?!?! Methinks it’s peanut sized processor has got it’s knickers in a terrible knot. Anyway, engineer can come along and they did say they will fix it, so will leave ’em to it.
