    Hello all,

Our washer dryer (Indesit WD12 S) seems to trip the main house electric trip switch – it has done this twice and so am not using anymore.

We opened it up and found that there is, where you cant see under the drum, a slow leak which has been dripping on the motor (I think its the motor its dripping on). Having felt inside it seems that a ‘screw’ has sheared? and the water is dripping through there. Could it have been holding a washer or something?

Can it be fixed easily? Can we just seal it somehow? Cant get to the ‘screw’ as its under a metal ‘bar’. When feeling with a finger (obviously with the electric off!), it does feel like a sheared screw.

    It is 3 years old.

    Thanks in advance.

It’s a common failure with these machines the fixing bolt of the drum support plate 🙁 Difficult to access and often damages motor beyond repair. Drum not accessible and replaced as a complete assembly. Most machines are scrapped at this point 😥

Thanks. It was checked and according to the engineer it was a screw that was in the wash that punctured the drum causing a leak. Thats apparently what we could feel. Not sure how true it is but anyway – we have bought a new one now…
