ParticipantI have an Indesit WD12S Washer-Dryer thats has just developed a problem. Every wash program that I select it fills with water and just keeps on washing for hours and hours until i switch it off.
It spins fine and drains fine.
Grateful for any help.Back to top

Participantfaulty heater or wire broken off heater?
given no fault code and the fact that it rinses, empties and spins, its the most likeley culprit
now please dont change the heater cos i said it might be.. a good check with a mulitmeter first to confirm is a good move….
with the plug out, of course
oh, and some safety gloves, they got some really nasty, sharp edges.. i have a pretty bad scar from one of those exact machines

I checked the element which is fine also how do i check the thermostat ?
I connected my meter to the thermostat which had no continuity, but when i dripped the thermostat into hot water i seen the resistance read lower and lower on my meter.
is the thermostat working?February 25, 2011 at 7:19 pm #345556helo_75
Participantno its ok, its a thermistor
the resistance changes according to water temperature, so thats fine
just check the valves next, just to be sure

I have given the wrong model number, The model number is WIDL126
I notice its not taking in any water on the rinse cycle.
I meter out the three inlet valves two had continuity and one was open circuit.
So am i right in thinking it the valve?February 26, 2011 at 4:12 pm #345558Specialist01269

If it’s showing o/c on a resistance test then thats your problem, by the way you should allways check any component with it’s feed wires removed for accuracy.

Could anyone tell me why it has three valves on the back when it only has one inlet hose?
Thanks

The wires going to the valves should it be the nearest one to the case get the white pair the second one in gets the black pair and the thrid one which is a blue valve get the blue pair
